There are so many things that I’ve added to my bathroom this year that I consider absolute staples (and one thing I’m really lacking).
(+) My Thieves toothpaste! Did you know that toothpaste is one of the items people rarely ever switch up. Similar to deodorant. You find what you like and you use it…forever. I made the switch to TOMS toothpaste and was disappointed in the number of chemicals, so I decided to try out Young Living’s toothpaste. So far so good.
(+) Lotion, for my face & body. There are so many lotion options out there! Some people opt out of lotion altogether and just use coconut oil, while others have been using the same one forever. I’m a big fan of this one & this one.
(+) This curling wand. When wands became all the rage I quickly grabbed one under $30 at Target and it was awesome. However, the barrel itself was small so it only made tight curls and the barrel got more narrow towards the bottom. I was looking for bigger curls and a hotter wand to get this mane curled in less time. I really love it!
(+) My Norwex face clothes. Talk about a soft washcloth. My sensitive skin loves this, plus I feel cleaner after I dry my face. It’s one of those products that you really can’t understand until you try it. I also stash the window/mirror cloth (literally just a cloth, no spray) nearby because the cats go crazy with water.
(+) Lip colors. I feel like a good lip color can help a bad hair day or polish an entire ensemble. There are so many colors to choose from. I’m obviously a huuuge fan of Beautycounter’s because I know they are free of heavy metals (another flip the “bottle” opportunity), the colors are incredible, and it is very nourishing, like a chapstick.
(+) A safe, high performing deodorant. I’ve been using Piper Wei for a while and feeling like it works for about 2-3 hours. And then it’s just a disaster. Some people have exceptional luck with it; I however, have not had long-term success. I’d love to figure out a way to never use deodorant at all, but I’m not really sure how to…do that? Suggestions on alternatives?
(+) Joy! The essential oil that makes me so happy. I ditched all my perfumes and put just a couple drops of this oil on my wrist most days or into my lotion. A few months ago, I wrote a blog post about fragrance and other facts we should know about what we are putting on our bodies.
